Phenomenal Antique Oak File Drawer Unit w/ Original Hardware
This is one of those absolutely epic pieces that are seen all too rarely! Incredibly gorgeous antique oak stacking drawer unit, made by The Office Speciality Manufacturing Company in Toronto, Ontario, around the turn of the last century. This unit features three stacking sections with different types of drawers in each: the bottom section (9 drawers) has trays which pull out to hold legal size files/paper with a two-hole punch, the middle section (9 drawers) is the same but holds letter size paper, and the top section (3 drawers) are lovely dovetailed drawers for holding just about anything. Each drawer has its original brass label plate with scrolled border and the company logo stamped into the pull. The drawers with trays are supported by pretty copper corner brackets, and the bracketed holder inside appears to be cast iron. Almost all of the paper holders are intact, and many retain their original filing system catalog card. Cleaned inside and out, restored and repaired, and freshly oiled, this amazing set is now in excellent antique condition.
