This gorgeous and rare extra large serigraph is by the iconic artist known as Erté (Romain de Tirtoff, November 23, 1892 - April 21, 1990), who rose to fame in the early 1900s and continued to produce art through the 1980s. Designing covers for the likes of Harpers Bazaar and costumes for Lillian Gish and Joan Crawford, Erté's talents extended to the theatre and hence we find the inspiration for this piece: a 1927 New York production of the opera "Pélleas et Mélisande", for which Erté designed the soprano's dress. This serigraph was produced in 1983 as a limited edition of 300, as part of a suite called "At the Theatre", and is pencil signed by artist himself. Professionally mounted, matted with archival materials, and framed in elegant satin black, to show off the magenta and teal tones  of the artwork as well as the metallic gold accents. Regarded as the "Father of Art Deco", Ertés' work is instantly recognizable; this is a rare opportunity to own a piece signed by the master himself. 36.25"H x 29"W (overall, including frame), $1195
