Fantastic 1950s Walnut Lamp by Modeline USA

This amazing extra tall table lamp is attributed to designer John Keal, and became known as the "cattail" lamp for its resemblance to the plant. Typical of the Modeline style of lamps, which feature organic designs and curvy shapes, this iconic piece has the most interesting on/off switch: simply pull down the walnut piece on the centre stem and the lamp will go on or off accordingly! In beautiful restored condition, this lamp was missing it's original exterior drum shade (few examples retain this exterior shade). Fortunately, we had some of the original shade material and were able to make a "half-size" shade to fit this piece - we think it looks great, but you can use this luminary with or without it. 40"H x 15" in diameter (outer shade), base is 7" in diameter, $695
