Fantastic Art Nouveau Plant Stand with "Green Man" Tiles
This completely unique art nouveau plant stand is a rare find - we see so little true art nouveau furniture in this part of the world! Beautifully formed and made of oak, with ceramic tiles featuring iconography of the "Green Man" or Father Nature, a common motif of the era. If that wasn't unusual enough, there are also brass embossed plaques on each side at the bottom, which state the builders' name and the date in French: Alfred Daux Wasdes, and August 24, 1914. We've restored this piece cosmetically and structurally but left it otherwise as it was, with a fine dark golden patina.
