A truly one of a kind piece, this mid century compact credenza is a unique beauty! Made with a unique combination of materials, including oak exterior, caned drawer fronts, and the best feature of all - art tile work on the top, featuring a beautiful depiction of tropical fish, including the mola mola (sunfish).

The tile work is signed by the artist, Alastair Ross, who was born and lived in Burnaby and attended the Vancouver School of Art. He had various pieces exhibited at both the Vancouver and Victoria art galleries, and went on to teach art at the secondary and post-secondary levels. We suspect this piece may have been a collaboration with other artists while he attended Vancouver School of Art in the mid 1950s, which would explain the various mediums used to create this piece.

We've made a couple of minor updates: the door fronts were painted white (the original colour finish still remains inside each cabinet) and the knobs were replaced with ones which better matched the tile art. Aside from being a part of Vancouver history, this piece is also wonderfully practical, offering a variety of storage options, and ultra compact in size for small spaces. This is a creative and one-off functional art work, sure to be a conversation piece in any home. 56"L x 16"D x 27.25"H, $695
