SALE! Set of 6 Exceptional Mid Century Dining Chairs by Danish Icon, Hans Wegner
We are thrilled to have these stunning chairs by the Danish design master, Hans Wegner, circa 1950s. This is the model CH-23, with its distinctive "+" sign inlay in the backrest, and paper cord woven seat. The CH-23 was one of the first creations Wegner made for Carl Hansen & Son of Denmark, soon to be followed by many more; yet this chair stands out, with detail and craftsmanship that are unmatched.
These chairs were brought to Canada directly from Denmark and have been lovingly passed down through the same family, who now find themselves downsizing. Beautifully cared for, they are in excellent condition save for one, which has a few broken strands of cord and will need attention. Fortunately, we have the best weavers right here in the Vancouver area who can replace this seat - we've left that up to the new owner, and thus priced this as a set of 5 even though 6 chairs are included. Freshly oiled with all natural teak oil, these beauties now shine with a rich, vibrant patina, and await a new home in which to be appreciated. WAS $3995, NOW $2995 / set of 6
