Super Cool & Rare Pop Up/Elevating Bar Cabinet, Prohibition Era

Incredibly rare, this pop up bar was made sometime in the 1920s/1930s. It is ultra compact, possibly to help it remain inconspicuous during the Prohibition era. Lift the top panels in concert and a full bar compliment rises, ready for your libations. While this is not the original bar ware and isn't a perfect fit, it's very close to what the original pieces would have looked like - we've also included the matching decanter, which fits nicely in the lower cabinet. This bar was extensively restored to get it to this condition and functionality, it was completely disassembled, restored, and reassembled:

-missing caster wheels replaced
-bakelite and brass knobs removed and cleaned/polished
-doors and front panel refinished, rest of cabinet cosmetically restored
-cracked veneer glued and clamped
-bent scissor hinge inside straightened
-lift pump/pipe disassembled and restored
-numerous bad repairs and modifications removed and restored
-entire bar lift mechanism and tray reinforced for extra strength

This is a gorgeous cabinet and a fine example of art deco design, and its compact size means it is a great fit for smaller spaces. You won't find another one like it! 24.5"W x 15"D x 32"H, when top is opened it is 49"W, $1295
