Rare Pair of Rougier Lamps Designed by Maurice Chalvignac Circa 1970s

  • $1,495.00

Very rare *pair* of Rougier lamps designed by Maurice Chalvignac, a very Canadian collaboration! Rougier created a number of iconic lamps throughout the 1970s/1980s, with their most well-known designs using lucite “petals” to create these flower like designs. Chalvignac, known for his ceramic creations, teamed up with Rougier to create these beauties. While they are very similar to other Rougier designs, these ones features a key difference: each petal is on a swivel joint, allowing the flower to be “opened” or “closed” more to adjust the light. This pair is in gorgeous condition, with no chips or major wear (one minor split at the bolt in one petal, see photo), the brass joints have been freshly polished, and the silver tone bases and petals thoroughly cleaned. These are absolute statement pieces, and give off a stunning glow that really can’t be replicated by any other material. A rare design by Rougier and a prime example of Canadian design innovation. 21"H (when closed) x 12"W, $1495 / pair
