Fab Piece of Canadian Design History, Rosewood Credenza by Hugh Spencer

  • $2,195.00

This beautiful rosewood credenza with heavy chrome legs was designed by Hugh Spencer for Opus Furniture Canada, circa 1960s. Hugh Spencer was also the mind behind the infamous Project G Clairtone Stereo, and icon of mid century design. Indeed, one can see a similar aesthetic reflected in this sideboard. It's unusual dimensions and combination of interior drawers and open cabinet would make it a fantastic entertainment center or luxurious bar cabinet. Even better, this lovely piece is finished on the back, meaning it can be placed anywhere in a room and look gorgeous. A very rare piece of mid century furniture and a prime example of mid century Canadian furniture design. Please note, this piece is in excellent cosmetic condition, but it does have a minor 1/8" dip in the centre, due to age and weight; minor bubbling on front edge. 72.5"L x 21"D x 29"H, $2195
