Rare & Unusual Brutalist Collar Necklace by Guy Vidal, circa 1970s
This very unusual collar/bib necklace is made in the brutalist style, and signed by iconic Canadian artist Guy Vidal. What makes this piece very different from Vidal's other work is that it actually comes apart in two pieces (see photos), via a loop and hook at the centre. This allows the necklace some flex and movability while being worn. As with all Vidal designs, this piece is beautifully made and heavily textured.
